What are you doing this summer?

LEAMIS is hosting short-term mission trips to Bolivia and Nicaragua this summer, as well as to the coast of Mississippi to help with the rebuilding efforts following Katrina.

Mission trips are a great way to share and grow in your faith. Trips to other countries are an excellent way to experience other cultures and to see a facet of God that cannot be experienced in your home culture.

We hope that as you look through the trip pages that you will find one that you interested in and will join the team!

LEAMIS is an evangelical, interdenominational Christian ministry. We help equip the local Christian church in equipping people for ministry by providing leadership development and mission training.

We are involved in short-term mission teams that focus on such things as workshops that can provide knowledge and experience for small home businesses. This has included such things as how to make soap, candles, and jam, basic carpentry, weaving, crocheting, copper foiling and other art workshops.

Workshops also cover environment and health concerns. Project 10:42 is a workshop that addresses the need for safe drinking water. This workshop teaches people how to build bio-sand filters and how to chlorinate water.

Regardless of our projects or trips, we believe that our task is to help people help themselves, to encourage positive interpersonal relationships, and the expression of the gifts God has placed within each person.

We would like for you to share with us your thoughts about short-term missions and your mission trip experiences. We want to learn from each other, so feel free to blog on the Mission Trip Comments page.
